A big change is coming...

The Wertenberger's are moving to the country!

We signed a contract today (whew, just in time for the tax credit!) on a home north and east of town. We didn't know we were looking to move, but one of Ben's former (I almost said old...) basketball players asked us in if we would be interested in looking at her grandparents' place. Megan had remembered that we said we wanted to live in the country "someday" and her grandparents had just moved to town. That was last fall and with basketball about to start, we politely declined. We both continued to think and pray on it and called them back over spring break. The house was still available so we went for a look.
After even more prayer, several visits, prayer, an inspection, and prayer we were ready to take the plunge! Aren't we spontaneous?!

The house was built in 1978 and will need some updating but we are looking forward to making it "our" home. We love the vaulted, beamed ceiling in the living room, the sunroom, and the sewing room. It sits on about 5 acres and has a machine shed (we have no machines... so if you need to rent storage space for your machine, let us know). We have taken the kids out there a few times and they enjoyed running down the "hill" of the south yard and swinging on the double glider swing in the front yard.

The praying isn't over. We need to sell our home in town. It's listed on craigslist and zillow if you'd like to see it or pass on the info to someone who might be interested in moving to Whitewater. We love this house. It has been good to us and it will be sad to leave it.

But we are looking forward to all the space that awaits us in the country!

I AM SOOOO EXCITED! "Some updating" is very generous of you... And thank you for not calling me old; I don't think I quite qualify at 24. ;)

I speak from experience - that south hill is great for sledding and a good, old-fashioned banana slide.
